Polishing


We're nearing the end with our game project and everything is looking good!

Here's a little update on everything:

The art has been updated alot and everything is in its final position where it will be when the game is done. All that's left is some polishing of the models as some still look a little rough. Smarter placements of our assets as some are completely out of view and don't contribute to anything but performance loss. This of course is very minimal but everything counts.


The park entrance has been redecorated.



Since our shop is going to work differently than we had planned at first, we made some changes to it. We noticed alot of confusion during playtests as it was unclear what you were buying and how much, players ran into "purchase item" unintentionally and money would dissapear because of this. 

We spaced the shop further back and put down two pads the players can walk onto when they want to purchase a weapon. Also separated by a fence to make it even "safer".


We have also moved the school further up as this displays the model much better than before from our camera view. It also adds much more to the scene and brings it to life.



Fences have been strategically placed to make defending easier. This makes fences much more interesting and useful as you can now block off entrances. This way you can focus on another horde of zombies while the other is busy destroying the fence you placed. Or they will have to walk all the way around.


we added 3 more zombies for more variation in the game. so that is not only the one green zombie. The oragne one is stronger so he has more HP, we gave him a american football helemet so how that, the woman is faster so she can grap the childen and the blue one, he is a boss he is faster en has more HP.

We also ran another playtest with all the 4 devs together.

A few things we noticed that should be changed :

  •  The healthbars should have a different color for every player
  •  Fences are really handy but they are too short, so we will make the fences wider, And more expensive.
  • A few issues with the killzones that are easily fixable.
  • Some more particle effects are needed
  • When a player dies, it's not very noticeable for the others so we need to clarify this.

we also changed how the shop works. you can now buy items by standing on the shop and pressing the interact button.
