Dev_Log04: Zombies Walk into production


We Have Started Production on our game. We implemended Improved Camera system that zooms in and out properly when you move towards the edges of the screen. The player movement has also been improved.

We added a more polished version of the prototype gun to the game. It has some fire rate issues which will be fixed soon.


Our base character has also been updated and improved with a more extreme silhouette making him more recogniseable from above. This is really important as our game is top down and zoomed out quite a bit so we have to make sure the players know who is who just from the characters alone. 

The texture has also been redone and cleaned up.




We're expecting to get it rigged up soon!

We also started moving our assets to Unity and started experimenting around with lighting a bit to get more familiar with the way Unity works.

Here's a screenshot of the shop assets together along with some new foliage props. Do note however that we're still working hard on the shader of the plants, we're currently trying to make a clean 2 sided foliage shader as this is not standart in Unity. The toxic green color will also be removed soon.

Some assets were improved aswel, Our fence for example is now much thicker and sturdier than ever before. They won't just fall over with the wind anymore!


The weapons have been improved aswel, making them more recogniseable from a longer distance.


On the more technical side for us, we started with our Wooden texture in substance designer. The reason why we decided to get a texture done there and not just a plain flat folor is because of the reason that we'll be using alot of wood. This means we can re-use the same texture over and over again with a slight variation.
